Limited edition / Tertium Quid
Film theorist Sergei Eisenstein argued that film montage could create ideas and have an impact beyond the individual images. When two or more images are edited together, they create a "tertium quid" (third something) that makes the whole greater than the sum of its individual parts. In a similar vein, we harnessed cinematic codes and the potential of montage, merging archival images into a new "tertium quid."
